Joe and Debbie loved the military life, culture, and most importantly, the people. They cherish the lifetime friends they made in their 25 years of Naval service, and those they continue to make in “retirement.”
Debbie is a Missouri native, and a true expert in the military family “experience.” She has “logged” eleven different geographic locations from Boston, MA, to Southern California, and 21 different houses, ranging from a rented mobile home to a pop up camper, base housing, numerous rentals, and the purchase of six different homes. Along the way, she managed a household of three active children, participated in a host of Navy spouse/family events, and managed a highly successful secretarial career culminating in senior executive secretary at George Mason University. As with most military spouses, she had to contend with the numerous and lengthy deployments inherent in military service.
Joe is also a Missouri native and alumni of University of Missouri with a business degree. He received his commission from Navy ROTC and entered flight training, earning his wings and PCSed to Jacksonville, Fl for training in the P-3 Orion aircraft. He was initially assigned to a P-3 squadron, VP-8 in Brunswick, Maine. Subsequent tours included: Corpus Christi as a T-44 instructor; department head tours in P-3 squadrons at Memphis and Glenview; Reserve P-3 Wing staff, Moffett Field; Officer-in Charge of a Reserve Patrol Squadron at Point Mugu; resident course at the Naval War College, Newport, RI; Commanding Officer of a Reserve Patrol Squadron at South Weymouth, MA; Executive Officer of NAS South Weymouth, MA; Program Manager on the Director of Naval Reserve staff, Pentagon; and a final tour as the Commander, Reserve Patrol Wing, Norfolk.
Joe and Debbie have been married for, well a long time, and are blessed with three grown children who they proudly consider their best friends, five adorable grand daughters and one grandson who are the joy of their lives.
For the past 16 years they have served the real estate needs of Military Families, Federal Employees, Defense Contractors, Airline Employees, and the General Public. They "get" the challenges of multiple moves combined with the rigors of the Military lifestyle and are committed to over delivering in service with every client. In 2015 they opened VR SAM as an independent brokerage and work with clients throughout the Northern Virginia region.
